Watching Paint Dry: Live Murals at Manly
Who thought that literally watching paint dry would be interesting!
Manly Corso will be transformed into a live art class over the next month when young local artist Patrick Hunter (aka ‘Inkhunter’) will be painting a huge mural on the recently erected construction hoardings.
“I’m really looking forward to working on this mural. As a local it’s a great honour to have my art on The Corso” said Patrick
The Northern Beaches Council has partnered with St Matthews Church to transform the appearance of the churches construction site which will see the renovation and redevelopment of retail space and community rooms.
“By transforming the construction site into an eclectic and colourful urban artwork, we’re making sure Manly continues to embrace the unique atmosphere that it’s known for and also highlight our continued support for local businesses.” Mayor Michael Regan said.
While underway, passers-by will be able to stop, chill out and watch Patrick paint the mural ‘live’ during daylight hours.
The artwork will remain in-situ for up to 18 months while the development is completed.
