COVERED. popped down to Sandbar Dee Why to taste and try their coveted new breakfast dishes.

A popular local café on the shore of Dee Why Beach, Sandbar has long been a favourite venue for locals and tourists alike.

Heading into the summer season, their innovative chefs and waitstaff have put their heads together to create delicious and unique breakfast menu items.

A dish that stood out throughout the trialling was the Sandbar Breakfast Taster.

A healthy and nutritious breakfast option on the menu, the dish features a collective fusion of protein, power foods and flavour.

Starting with the base of chargrilled rustic toast, roasted tomato and spinach, poached egg topped with dukka and a side of ricotta, chef’s specialty kale pesto and white bean puree.

The fresh combination of flavour and ingredients are perfect for a big breakfast on your own or shared with a friend.

Created by Sous Chef Tony, he says the inspiration for the dish came as more locals are opting for unique flavours and healthier breakfast options.

“I had so much fun creating this dish, and I know it will be a much loved breakfast choice as we head into the summer season,” he said.

When asked what drink goes well with the dish, Tony recommended a classic latte or turmeric latte.
