New Transport App For Manly

On Demand public transport has arrived in Manly with the launch of a NSW Government trial scheme, ‘Ride Plus’, being launched in Manly.

The On Demand transport pilot, administered by Transport for NSW, will connect commuters from their home address or designated local pick up point, to destinations including Manly Wharf and the B-Line stops at Warringah Mall and Manly Vale.

The Manly pilot joins a host of other On Demand schemes across Sydney announced earlier this year by Transport Minister Andrew Constance.

Manly MP James Griffin says, “I am an advocate for public transport and this is about personalising the transport experience for local residents, enabling services to arrive where and when people need them. I hope people will give the trial a go.”

Manly, Brookvale, Curl Curl, Balgowlah, Manly Vale, Queenscliff and Freshwater, will be among the first areas in NSW to experience the new service.

It will operate between 6am-10pm Monday to Friday with a standard one-way fare costing $3.10, payable by credit card within the app or online.

The pilot operator, global public transport group Transdev, has guaranteed punctuality within a 10-minute timeslot from the confirmed pick up time, with an SMS collection time reminder sent to customers.

To deliver the service Transdev will use two Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles carrying up to 11 passengers with services to Manly Wharf timed to deliver customers five minutes before departing ferry services.

Customers can book their services online at and in the coming days will be able to download the ‘Ride Plus’ app from the Google Play and Apple App Stores.
