An Evening with Mike Munro at the Breakwater Ball
Northern Beaches residents have the opportunity for an exclusive evening with one of Australia’s most esteemed media personalities, Mike Munro, at this year’s Breakwater Ball on Saturday 14th October at the ICMS Manly.
Breakwater Ball co-hosts, Lifeline Northern Beaches and Queenscliff Surf Lifesaving Club, are thrilled to have Mr Munro share his amazing life journey with guests.
Lifeline Northern Beaches CEO, Mr David Thomas, says Mike will not only talk about exotic travel and movie stars, but open up about growing up in a local (Mosman) monastery, the only child of a violent but tragic alcoholic mother. His inspirational warts and all story is about his disadvantaged background which led him to become one of the most recognizable faces on Australian television.
“His open and frank account of events and people that have shaped his life truly resonates with the audience, so much so they say you can hear a pin drop while he conveys his story.”
The former Sixty Minutes journalist, This is Your Life Host, author and current series producer and presenter on the History Channel, was also awarded the Order of Australia in 2014 for his charitable work and contribution to journalism.
The Breakwater Ball was born out of Lifeline Northern Beaches and Queenscliff Surf Lifesaving Club’s demonstrated commitment to supporting the Northern Beaches community by providing safety, strength and protection, as does the breakwater provide a safe harbour from the waves.
