You’ve heard them on your favourite radio station. You’ve heard them on the dance floor. You’ve even heard them as part of one of Australia’s most-loved advertising campaigns. Now comes the chance to hear them live at Sydney’s most spectacular oceanside venue – the new Harbord Diggers.

Creators of worldwide hits ‘Don’t Hold Back’ and ‘Are You With Me’, The Potbelleez will headline 2019 New Years’ Day celebrations at the Diggers in Freshwater.

“To say we’re excited about performing at The Diggers is an understatement,” said The Potbelleez front man Ilan Kidron. “We’ve heard so many great things about the venue and location. We can’t imagine a better way to welcome 2019. Bring it on!”

This special performance comes after more than a decade at the top of Australia’s electro-pop music scene. Since their stunning debut in 2006, The Potbelleez have achieved gold and platinum sales with multiple singles on the ARIA Charts.

There’s none more recognised than ‘Don’t Hold Back’, which the Sydney-based trio have performed to thousands of delighted fans, both around Australia and the world. The pop classic has even been immortalised by automotive giant, Jeep, which used the single as its advertising anthem for seven years.

“At all our shows we want the audience to do exactly what the song says – Don’t Hold Back. Life is short and we want our music to deliver as much enjoyment and fun to people’s lives as possible,” added Kidron.

Just like The Potbelleez renowned hit, the Diggers hasn’t held back since its much-talked about rebirth in June this year. The new state-of-the-art venue has brought the best new dining and entertainment options to its breath-taking home on the headland between Freshwater and Curl Curl beaches.

“This will be our first festive season since our relaunch in June this year and we wanted to do something memorable to mark the occasion and to kick start 2019 with a big bang,” said Diggers General Manager Michael Phillips.

“Having The Potbelleez - such a successful Australian band – perform on New Years Day is exactly that. Everyone knows their hits – you just can’t help but enjoy their music.”

The New Years Day show also underlines Diggers’ support for Australian live music. It follows on from an unforgettable performance from legendary rock band The Hoodoo Gurus that headlined our venue’s opening night on 30 June.

“On top of being a world class venue for people to dine, drink, relax and have fun, the Diggers is passionate about bringing the best entertainment and events free for our members,”he said.

The Potbelleez event is free for members and will be held on Tuesday 1 January. Live DJs will commence from 3pm with The Potbelleez performing from 7pm.
