Art Meets Science With The NinetyFive Percent Art Exhibition
The NinetyFive Percent movement is bringing art and science together for the second time. Aiming to raise awareness of global coral bleaching and other issues facing it.
Curator and NinetyFive Percent Director, Jaimee Paul, has brought together 17 environmentally focused artists from around Australia who will each present an artwork responding to the issues facing the ocean with a particular focus on coral bleaching.
Throughout the exhibition, a number of side events such as beach cleans and live painting, art workshops and documentary screening will be hosted on the Northern Beaches.
The organisation aims to raise awareness of the issue of global coral bleaching, and the importance of protecting the world’s most significant resource.
The NinetyFive Percent exhibition is free and opening night is on Thursday 8th of June 6 – 9 pm (all welcome).
The exhibition will continue to run Friday 9th – 22nd June, open Monday – Saturday 10am – 5pm at B-Side Creative Space.
Ten per cent of all sales will be donated to The Ocean Agency, a not-for- profit organisation established to visually document the changes in oceans caused by global warming. Funds raised will go to their current project 50 Reefs, a new global initiative to protect coral reefs.
