Visit Your Local Library For Free Comic Books

If you enjoy comic books, you will love the ‘Free Comic Book Week’ giveaway at Northern Beaches Council’s Manly, Dee Why and Mona Vale libraries’ on Monday, 1 May and Saturday, 6 May.

Northern Beaches Council’s Deputy General Manager Helen Lever said comics have been making a huge impact on popular culture for more than a century.

“Comics are loved by many and are regarded as accessible, inclusive and authentic forms of creative expression and they are not just for kids, that’s for sure,” Ms Lever said.

The community is invited to collect some free comic books including ‘Ricky & Morty’, ‘SpongeBob Squarepants’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘Hilda’, “Attack on Titan’, ‘Betty & Veronica’, ‘Looking Glass Wars’ and many more.

You can also reinvent your favorite comic as a-one-of-a-kind graphic wallet.

On Saturday 6 May, between 10am and 12 noon a special free drop-in craft workshop will be conducted at each of our three participating Libraries where  you can make yourself a wallet from your favorite recycled comics.

All ages can take part. No bookings are required.
