More than 3,000 people flocked to the newly-opened Manly Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Aquatic Centre over the weekend.

Over 2,000 patrons attended the free open day on Saturday and another thousand swimmers dived in on Sunday.

 “It’s great to see the community making the most of this wonderful newly refurbished facility”, said Northern Beaches Council General Manager, Mark Ferguson.

The new indoor Aquatic Centre incorporates a range of new wellbeing and fitness options, including, spa and sauna rooms, a fully equipped Wellness Centre and Group Fitness Room and a new Café. There is also the addition of an on-site Crèche catering for kids aged between 8 weeks and 5 years.

The free Hop, Skip, Jump Bus will be looping past the Aquatic Centre for those who want to leave the car at home and there is also parking for 54 cars including four ‘accessible’ and two ‘parents with prams’ spaces, entry off Kenneth Street.
