A COVERED. Spectacular - Café Coffee Crowning Night
Café owners and staff from up and down the Northern Beaches flocked to witness the announcement of COVERED. Magazine’s Coffee King.
Manly’s Hemingways took out the major title and crown with Oliver’s Twist Espresso, from Dee Why, winning ‘Best Coffee’ category and SeaChange, from Dee Why Beach, taking out the top spot for ‘Best Location’.
Roseberry Street Café, in Manly Vale, won ‘Most Stylish Café’ with Silo Espresso, in Manly, wining the most votes for ‘Favourite Hangout’ and Roma & Co stealing the title for ‘Friendliest Service’.
But with more than 4,000 coffee lovers across the peninsula voting for their favourites among the 29 cafés who took part, everyone was a winner as they promoted their love of the fine craft of coffee making.
The award night festivities started in the Sugar Lounge, in Manly, before moving downstairs to the Brklyn bar. There café staff showed their skills extended beyond coffee, as they went into battle in the bouncy inflatable boxing ring.
With their coffee crowns safely stored away, they let the punches fly in a new war of wars.
“The whole night was fantastic and completely captured the excitement and buzz around this whole competition,” said John Vickery, COVERED. publisher.
