Movie Mayhem for special needs children in the Northern Beaches
The Lara Jean Association Inc is hosting their first annual “Movie Mayhem” event at the Hoyts Cinemas Warringah Mall in the Easter school holidays, for local special needs children.
The Lara Jean Association Inc. was formed after Adam Palmer and his wife were given the terrible news that their 3 month old daughter Lara Jean had Aicardi Syndrome. It is a rare genetic disorder that affects the corpus callosum in the brain causing frequent seizures; it can also cause physical and intellectual delays.
The purpose of the "Movie Mayhem" project is twofold. Firstly to provide an exciting day out for children with disabilities, who through no fault of their own, have limited opportunity to enjoy such a day’s outing and the second is to raise desperately needed funds towards medical research for Aicardi Syndrome, whilst also assisting the worthwhile beneficiaries of Vision Australia and Sydney Children’s Hospital.
To sponsor a child along to “Movie Mayhem” is $100 with their carers or $50/child. Each ticket purchased and donated to these children will offer them the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled day out full of movies, drinks, popcorn and show bags free of charge, thanks to your generosity. If you are able to help a child, or indeed purchase any of the following groups of tickets for these special needs kids from your local area, these children would be most grateful.
3 Children & Carers - $300 7 children & carers- $700 12 children & carers -$1200
Groups include kids from Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Fisher Road School and local special needs schools and public schools with special education.
