A stirring affirmation of black survival
Harnessing dancer/choreographer Dalisa Pigram’s immense physicality, this work fuses performance art, Indigenous dance, aerial gymnastics, Malaysian martial arts and video projection. Taking its name from the bird that calls when the tide is turning, Gudirr Gudirr is an exploration of the complexity of cultural change in northwest Australia today.
With design by acclaimed visual artist Vernon Ah Kee, and direction by Koen Augustijnen, Pigram’s captivating performance will unravel, unsettle and consume.
