Get excited, Star Wars fans! Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum serves up its newest exhibition this November, and let us tell you, it’s a must see. Come face to face with 200 original objects from the popular sci-fi franchise. You’ll see Yoda in the flesh and Darth Vader’s suit (yes, we’re serious!). The exhibition’s also interactive, and you’ll get to create your own Star Wars hero as you move through the experience. If you’ve ever felt as though you should be hanging out in a cantina somewhere on a remote planet, now you’ll be able to with the smart technology bracelet and headset: no force necessary.
Bookings essential, costumes optional, but no lightsabers. Sorry.

Having struck a chord with the community over the past two years, the Lifeline Classic will be returning to the Northern Beaches in April. Bigger and more relevant than ever, this year we’re aiming to break our fundraising record for suicide prevention, and set ourselves a new benchmark.
With eight Australians attempting suicide every hour, and eight suicides occurring on our shores every single day, this is an issue that needs Australia’s attention. We need your support to reduce these sobering statistics.
Keen to get involved? Here’s what to do.
The Lifeline Classic is a ‘tag team’ surfing comp – but it’s also a fundraising challenge. If you want to take part, start by rounding up a team of four surfers. Then, it’s up to your team to raise as many donations as possible (in past years, the goal has been $5,000 per team, so why not see if you can beat this?).
On the day, we introduce all teams to a line-up of guest pro surfers who will join your teams. The team that’s raised the most money will have first pick of pros – so if you want to compete alongside your number one legend, get your fundraising cap on!
Limited spots are available, so register your team today!
If you're not in the surf, you can support Lifeline's work by donating to one of the teams who are competing in the Lifeline Classic.

It’s sweeping the nation…. join Clean Up Australia Day 2019 and do your bit.
Clean Up Australia Day is being held on Sunday 3 March around the country and Northern Beaches locals are being asked to do their bit in our area.
The annual event held on the first weekend in March was coined back in 1989 by founder and Chairman the late Ian Kiernan AO to inspire and empower communities to clean up the rubbish we create that is killing one of our best assets - nature.
Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said again this year there will be three separate events so everyone can get involved.
“Registrations are now open for this year’s clean up including a Business Clean Up Day, Youth and Schools Clean Up Day and the main event so I encourage everyone to get on board to register a site or to join a site.
“We live in such a beautiful area and need to respect the natural environment to ensure it is left pristine for generations to come.
“While Clean Up Australia Day happens once a year, it is up to each and every one of us to responsibly remove and dispose of rubbish every day to ensure it does not end up in our parks, bushland, waterways and the ocean,” Mayor Regan said.
The three community events include:
Business Clean Up Day – Tuesday 26 February 2019
Youth and Schools Clean Up Day – Friday 1 March 2019
Clean Up Australia Day – Sunday 3 March 2019
Last year Clean Up Australia Day was very successful on the Northern Beaches with 95 sites participating in the event.
A total of 9.8 tonnes of waste was removed from the Local Government Area while a number of heavy items including sunken boats, car parts and a quad bike were recovered from offshore locations.
At Manly Cove, 106 volunteer scuba divers from Dive Centre Manly removed 80kg alone of rubbish from the water in just one hour.
Of the 76% of items removed from this site, they included single-use plastics including plastic bags, plastic cutlery, plastic food wrappers and plastic straws.
Gather your friends and get on the greens to raise much needed funds for little ‘Archie’. This classic one day event has all the fun, fundraising & fashion.
SUMMER NIGHTS ON THE GREEN is a unique lawn bowling fundraiser that is held on Saturday 2 March 2019 at the Harbord Bowling Club 4pm, benefiting ‘Archie’ our Miracle Man.
Archie’s future prognosis is unknown and the journey since birth has understandably taken its toll on his family as complications associated with his syndrome have developed over time.
Archie is completely blind and has no light perception.
Archie has several brain abnormalities which have caused global development delays
Archie has a mild/moderate neurosensory hearing loss requiring him to wear hearing aids.
Archie is entirely peg fed through his tummy due to silent aspiration (fluid leaking into the lungs). As a result he does not eat anything orally through his mouth.
Archie has a rare form of epilepsy which could cause his heart rate to drop dangerously low. This could be fatal.
Archie has a severe motor delay. He is currently working on getting stronger, more consistent head control.
Since birth Archie has had over 15 separate hospital admissions with various respiratory infections
With your support our community can get together and raise vital funds to purchase a brand new Volkswagen Comfortline Multivan for Archie and his family.
